The BEST posture is your NEXT posture. We have known for some time now that there is no link between static posture and pain. Keeping your back rigid and as straight as possible when seated or standing can actually lead to back pain! š±
Staying in one position for too long causes mechanical stress on certain structures and eventually pain which is a signal for us to move into a different position. You do not need to keep everything in "alignment" for your back to be healthy. šš
Having a VARIED posture is the best posture, so if you work from a desk try to alter the position you sit in rather than trying to keep everything straight and upright! Alternating between a sit/stand desk can also be quite helpful as well as taking breaks to walk. Remember, the BEST posture is your NEXT posture.šŖ
